Mr. Thomas has 28 years of experience working with children and youth in education and social services, and is a Licensed Child Care Administrator and certified Child and Youth Care Professional. Mr. Thomas oversees the fundraising process and coordinates events and community outreach for the Home. He is also responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating individual, group, and agency-wide activities and events. Mr. Thomas is responsible for supervising recreation assistants/ropes course facilitators and volunteers. He is responsible for the Adventure Program curriculum development, programming, and training staff in ropes course, rock climbing, backpacking, and experiential-based learning skills. He reports to the CEO.
Mr. Thomas holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art with a minor in Education from Oral Roberts University and a Master of Arts degree in Education from the University of Mississippi. He did post-graduate studies at Baylor University in a Special Education certification program. He holds a Texas Teaching K-12 certification in Art Education and Special Education. He is certified as a Challenge Course Manager and holds a Level 2 Full Challenge Course Certification in high and low ropes course. He is certified in Life Space Crisis Intervention, Managing Aggressive Behavior, and is a Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA) facilitator.
